Dear all,

Sorry for not having the chance to bid farewell to all of you.

I got a last minute notice in December '08 notifying me that I'm being accepted for further studies.

It was a memorable experience for me in FTPSS and I had a great time with 1N1 '08. I hope all of you will strive hard for this coming year and do well in 2009!

I have heard that some of you will not be in the same class this year but I do wish that you will still keep in close contact with each other.

Please keep this blog going and I will pop by here now and then to see how you guys are doing.

I will miss all of you!

most of us are in the same class, except that a few are in 2N2 while the rest are in 2N1.
But never mind people.

Dear class,

After one week's break, I notice that all of you did not complete the assignment on Movie Review. Most of you have watched the movie and I believe you will be able to do the simple assignment on commenting the movie with the questions given to you on the blog.

I hope you will be able to get it done before your holiday is over.

For those who did not complete your holiday assignments, I will arrange one day for all of you to stay behind in class to complete whatever work that is not completed.

For those with no computers at home, I will try to see if I can arrange to have you do the assignment in the computer lab. But I would only be able to show you the shorter version of the movie.

I believe one week's break is more than enough for you to complete the assignments which I have asked all of you to do.

Do bring back all the assignments completed so that we can go through them in class after I have marked them:

Holiday Remedial on 2 September 2008 (1000hrs)

My dear 1N1,

Please note that I will be conducting a holiday remedial for you. It will be a comprehension mock exam to let you have a feel of how it will be like on the actual examination day.

The mock exam consists of Passage A, Passage B and Summary.

Details of the remedial are as follows:

Date: 2 September 2008 (Tuesday)
Time: 1000hrs - 1130hrs
Venue: I am looking at AVA room but I have to check for the availability first. If not, it will either be Ms Tien's homeroom or A1-07. We can meet at the school canteen first.

I would like to seek your cooperation in lowering your noise level as our remedial coincides with the upper secondary's listening comprehension examination.

This remedial session is compulsory. Attendance will be taken. For those who are unable to attend, I would like to speak to your parent or guardian.

After the remedial session, as promised, I will show the full 1.5hrs of Step Up 2.

Holiday Assignments

Hey guys,

Please take note of your holiday assignments:

For those who have yet to complete the comprehension on the red panda and the black-and-white panda, please do so including the summary.

Please make use of what we have learnt in today's lesson on summarising sentences into your summary.

It will be good to put what you have learnt into use.
Summary Spotlight
Please complete all the questions on shortening of the sentences.
1 set of grammar and comprehension exercise
You guys sure have a lot to buck up when it comes to comprehension. Because your common test results are not ideal.

I hope I have not left out anything. Do inform me if anything has been left out.

All assignments are to be submitted on the first day of school, i.e. 8 Sept '08. Now, you have ONE WEEK to complete all the assignments given. DO NOT come back to me, saying that you do not have enough time to finish all of them.

Please remember that these work have been given to you in view of the end-of-year examinations which are nearing. You only need half a day to complete each assignment. Then you can go have fun in the next half of the day.

Should you encountered any problem while doing the assignments, you may either ask me on Tue after the remedial and movie sessions or you may make another appointment with me to go through them.

Step Up 2 - The Movie

I'm so sorry that I was unable to connect the laptop to the projector this morning!

Yes, I'm making use of a blog to give you an assignment. So you guys have no choice but TO DO MY ASSIGNMENT! :P

For those who have watched the movie, please comment on the following points with PROPER ENGLISH:

What was the plot or story about?
Was Andie (the female lead) able to interpret the music played by her instructor? Was she able to express the dance with the music played? Why?
What was her dream?
Do you think the crew which Andie and Chase formed succeeded?
What is exciting / not exciting about this movie?
Give a phrase to indicate the educational objective of this movie.
How many stars will you rate this show with?

As mentioned in the class earlier, there is a compulsory English Remedial next Tue at 1000hrs. If you would like to watch the full movie, we can do so after the remedial. It may help you to comment better after you have watched the whole movie.

Some rules to note for posting of comments in this blog:

There should not be any obscenities used.
There should not be any vulgar languages used.
Comments posted will be graded as class assignments.
